ArtistWebsites

Lawrence Zeegan
Zeegens website is basic, it has a clear layout and it is easy to access. At the top of the page there are three sub-headings which allow you to see Lawrence Zeegen as an educator, illustrator and as a writer, once on these heading it takes you immediately to the page of interest, in my case; illustrator. But it is always good to know these things about artists especially if you don’t have to dog to find out the information.
Something which really appealed to me is his gallery of art, it is portrayed under clear sub-headings, and once you click onto an image it grows bigger onto the page; including the most essential information for viewers to see. Once you have studied the image, you simply click the artwork a second time and it returns to normal thumbnail size; I thought this was interesting because it’s different and unique.
The way in which Lawrence Zeegens biography is displayed is easy to find but the linked page contains a long paragraph of information which initially didn’t look, layout wise, like it was form the same website and secondly it wasn’t appealing enough for me to want to read it all, if any. There is an option to download Zeegens most updated CV which I again thought was very unusual. The website has a clear contact and search bar, along with a sub-heading named ‘Archive’. The archive option is again very interesting because its an unusual thing to see on an artists website, they often have a gallery of there work from recent and past times but Zeegen lays his out in an archive of years from when the work was produced, including commercial work with big named companies.
