Employment Opportunities?

Employment Opportunities

What kinds of employment opportunities are available and to hand?
• Competitions and commissions online and by flyer or word of mouth
• Companies
• Self employment

Current competitions and commissions from PCA job wall;

• Artistic Volunteers Needed
This is a no pay commission for a charity I found on Plymouth College of Arts job wall, it states; ‘St Luke's Hospice is looking for artistic volunteers to run creative Art Therapy Workshops with their day patients and the elderly.’
There is further information going into more detail about your commitment, where and when the event takes place and the deadline and for even more information it gives a contact number and an email address; kate.pyman@stlukes-hospice.org.uk

• Music Promotion Artwork
This competition is ‘looking for a range of visually creative designs that will be used as part of albums, mix tapes and singles to be released on a number of different music platforms including iTunes and BeatPort.’
This appeals to me a lot more than the volunteer work even thought both of them are unpaid, purely because it is more up my street and open to interpretation.

• Logo Designer
This commission is freelance and the salary rate is flexible. The person who applies to this must be Plymouth based for easy client meetings, consider Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Creative Suite to be their next of kin and be able to compliment the companies portfolio material;
